Peter Read joins the Board of PCA Management

Peter Read joins the Board of PCA Management The PCA is delighted to announce the appointment of Peter Read as a Non-Executive Director to the Board of PCA Management Ltd, as from 1 October 2014. Peter worked for KPMG from 1975-2013, serving from 2008-2013 as Chairman of its Telecommunications, Media and Technology practice, and its Global Japanese Practice in EMA. As a former partner of KPMG, he brings substantial board level experience, advising Executive and Non-Executive Directors on accounting, audit, reorganisations, mergers and acquisitions and public and private transactions. He has served as a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee for a number of businesses and organisations, and is currently a member of the Audit Committee of the England and Wales Cricket Board; a role which he will step-down from the end of this month, in order to take up his new position with the PCA. Peter is currently Chairman of Alastair Cook’s Benefit Committee. Mark Wallace, Chairman of the PCA, welcomed Peter, saying, ” Peter Read brings a wealth of relevant experience to the PCA. It is vital that the players feel that the management of the PCA’s finances is in safe hands, and it is hard to think of anyone better qualified than Peter to take on this role.” Matthew Wheeler, Non-Executive Chairman of the PCA Management Board, added, ” Following Anthony Wreford’s departure from the board after five years of outstanding contribution, we indicated a desire to find a candidate of similar stature to replace him.
