Winners Announced for 2010 NatWest PCA Awards – 27/09/10 The Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA), in association with NatWest and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), tonight hosted the NatWest PCA Awards. In front of almost 1,000 guests at The Hurlingham Club, London, Neil Carter was crowned NatWest PCA Player of the Year for 2010, while Adam Lyth was named as NatWest PCA Young Player of the Year. Warwickshire all-rounder Carter, 35, enjoyed the finest season of his career with bat and ball in the LV= County Championship, as his 617 runs and 51 wickets helped Warwickshire maintain their Division One status. He also hit a hundred and two half-centuries in the Clydesdale Bank 40 to help the Bears lift the trophy, as well as picking up 16 wickets in the Friends Provident t20. Left-handed opening batsman Lyth was the first to pass 1,000 first-class runs during the season after making a spectacular start to the summer, which included hundreds in consecutive matches in May against Somerset and Hampshire. The talented 22-year-old went on to score more than 2,000 runs in all cricket, cementing his place at the top of the Yorkshire batting order and also being awarded his County cap.
