Nominees announced for NatWest PCA Awards – 14/09/2007

Nominees announced for NatWest PCA Awards The Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA), in association with NatWest and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), has announced the nominees for the NatWest PCA Awards which will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on 24 September 2007. The Awards are unanimously supported by the players, with the main awards voted on by the players themselves. The major award categories are the NatWest PCA Player of the Year and NatWest PCA Young Player of the Year. Nominees are: NatWest PCA Player of the Year Mushtaq Ahmed, 37 (Sussex) Andy Caddick, 38 (Somerset) Ottis Gibson, 38 (Durham) Mark Ramprakash, 38 (Surrey) NatWest PCA Young Player of the Year Ravi Bopara, 22 (Essex) Stuart Broad, 21 (Leicestershire) Adil Rashid, 19 (Yorkshire) Luke Wright, 22 (Sussex) Over the past ten years, the staging of the NatWest PCA Awards has raised significant funds for the PCA Professional Cricketers’ Trust. The Fund is part of the PCA’s commitment to helping current and former players and their dependants in times of hardship, upheaval or to readjust to the world beyond the game.
