Federation Of International Cricketers’ Associations Confirms Results Of Cricket World Cup Player Survey To Be Released Next Week Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations (FICA) Chief Executive, Tim May, confirmed that the results of FICA’s Cricket World Cup Player Survey would be released towards the end of next week. The survey covers a wide range of areas including the following; • Event Format • Number of Participating Teams • Number of Matches • Security Arrangements • Travel and accommodation arrangements • Practice and Playing Venues • Anti Doping, Anti Corruption Education matters • Performance of the ICC and organizing committees May confirmed that the survey, which are routinely conducted by FICA following ICC Events, provide FICA with valuable player perspective which assist the Association in determining positions for future ICC Events. May additionally confirmed that agreement of Player Terms for the participation in the next block of ICC Events ( 2007-2015, commencing in South Africa in September 2007) had not been reached, despite over 12 months of negotiating with ICC and despite ICC already selling the associated media rights to the Events . ” Whilst the Player Terms contain significant improvements from the Terms that have been extended to the players in the past, there are a number of critical issues from FICA’s and the players’ perspective that still remain in dispute and without resolution FICA will not be in a position to support the Player Terms” ” Feedback via the Player Survey relating to the ICC Cricket World Cup, which has attracted significant negative comment from a range of cricket’s stakeholders, will also assist in highlighting further areas of concern with the Player Terms and its associated Agreements.
