Alec Stewart Is Appointed A Vice-President Of PCA – 17/03/2004 Following his retirement from international cricket in 2003, former England Captain, Alec Stewart has been appointed a vice-president of the Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA). The PCA is the representative body of current and former professional cricketers in England and Wales. Alec Said Alec will support group chief executive, Richard Bevan and the PCA executive management team, bringing a unique perspective on the issues faced by players at the very top of their profession. Alec said: ” Throughout my playing career I have greatly benefited from the services and support offered by the PCA. Becoming a vice-president is a huge honour and it will allow me the opportunity to stay closely involved in the game, playing a role in confronting the issues it faces.” Richard Bevan Said Richard Bevan said: ” Alec’s appointment will be enormously beneficial to the PCA. He brings to the role a wealth of experience and the respect of players gained from his long and distinguished career in both domestic and international cricket. The modern game, especially the volume of cricket played in the international arena, continues to place increasing demands on players.
