Paul Bolton joins Professional Cricketers’ Association The Professional Cricketers’ Association have appointed experienced journalist Paul Bolton as their Communications Officer. He will be based at the PCA offices at Edgbaston and will have responsibility for raising awareness of all the PCA’s work, especially the work across all member services and the PCA Professional Cricketers’ Trust. Bolton has worked as a journalist for 30 years and covered county cricket for 25 of them. He has a great understanding of the game and developed numerous relationships with PCA members over this time. Since 2000 he has covered county cricket for the Daily Telegraph as well as for The Cricketer Magazine, Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack and The Cricket Paper. He previously worked as cricket correspondent of the Birmingham Evening Mail and Birmingham Daily News and has also lectured in sports journalism at Worcester University. He has also worked as a part-time Regional Communications Officer for the Rugby Football Union since 2002 and for the North Midlands RFU since 2000. Paul said ” Having worked closely with the PCA over a number of years I have admired the work that has been done to support players, past and present. I am looking forward to helping to promote the outstanding work done by the PCA in my new role.” Jason Ratcliffe commented “Our overall work across the organisation and with our members gives us so much to talk and communicate about on a day by day basis.
