Otago Cricket is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Coach to lead our elite domestic men’s cricket team the Otago Volts into its next phase of high-performance success.

The Head Coach will be responsible for developing a winning culture, fostering individual and team performance, and driving our programme to national prominence. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership, vision, and direction to the playing group and support staff.
• Design and implement high-performance coaching programmes to optimise player development and on-field results.
• Foster a high-performance culture based on accountability, continuous improvement, and team-first values.
• Manage and mentor assistant coaches and performance staff to ensure integrated support for players.
• Lead team preparation, tactical planning, and in-game decision making at all domestic competitions.
• Collaborate with selectors, administrators, and high-performance units to align the team’s goals with broader strategic objectives.
• Act as a figurehead for the team, engaging stakeholders, media, and the wider cricket community with professionalism and integrity.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Holds a Level 3 (or higher) Cricket Coaching Accreditation (or international equivalent).
• Has a proven track record of success in elite coaching roles, ideally at domestic or international level.
• Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills with an ability to unite and motivate individuals and teams.
• Brings deep tactical insight, modern coaching techniques, and an innovative mindset to player and game development.
• Understands the demands of a high-performance environment and is experienced in managing multidisciplinary support teams.
