Communications Assistant – The PCA

As part of the four-person communications team, an individual successful in gaining this opportunity will support the team in providing a wide-variety of content across all PCA channels.
Helping to produce content for the PCA website, social media accounts and membership magazine amongst various tasks, this role is adaptable based on the skillset of the successful candidate.
The position will also provide an opportunity to understand what it takes to work within professional cricket, spending time across departments with a focus on delivering clear messages to the PCA audiences.
To maintain thepca.co.uk and cricketerstrust.co.uk websites by ensuring all information and images are up-to-date, as well as updating specific website areas including the MVP.
The varied role will include relevant support of other tasks within the communications team to ensure the smooth running of the department.

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge and appreciation of sport in general, and cricket in particular
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to write accurate, engaging and varied copy with an eye for detail
- Ability to support with filming video and post-production editing
- Experience of working with WordPress or similar CMS
- Flexibility to work unsociable hours in evenings and weekends, especially in summer
- A proactive, positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Creative ideas with the ability to turn ideas into action
- An ability to work under pressure
Desirable:
- Experience of working with elite level athletes and handling confidential information
- Experience in using social media/digital marketing in a business context
- Knowledge of working in PR, Marketing or Internal Comms would be an advantage
- Experience of working with media and building positive relations
- Skill using the Adobe package – particularly Photoshop and Premiere Pro
- Experience in producing varied video content from pre to post-production
