The polls are open to vote for your PCA Player of the Month for May with the 2025 domestic season seeing the commencement of the new Vitality Blast season.

The top four women’s and men’s domestic players have been announced using the PCA’s Most Valuable Player Rankings, powered by OFX, with the second awards of the year up for grabs following Tom Haines and Em Arlott’s success in April.

The women’s game sees The Blaze have two nominees in Georgia Elwiss and Kathryn Bryce, with the latter nominated for a second straight month. Elwiss, meanwhile, topped the MVP standings in May with a staggering 118.15 points. Lancashire star Emma Lamb also returns as a nominee after her impressive start to the seasons saw her return to the England setup. Somerset captain and PCA Representative Sophie Luff completes the shortlist.

In the men’s award, Warwickshire all-rounder Ed Barnard picked up the most MVP points in the month of May with 151.06. He is joined by the experienced Lancashire duo of Keaton Jennings and Luke Wells. Hampshire seamer and former South Africa international Kyle Abbott’s excellence in the County Championship also sees him get nominated for the May honour.

The players are selected by the PCA’s Most Valuable Player Rankings, powered by OFX, which picks out the game’s top performers across every single fixture. This then forms the rankings for each competition, as well as an overall table which is how the top four are selected. The MVP takes into account batting, bowling and fielding contributions as well as match defining contributions using a unique algorithm developed by CricViz.

The PCA Player of the Month will be decided by a 50:50 split between the PCA MVP Rankings and the public vote below– with the poll closing on 4 June at 10pm. With a short window to have your say, vote now to pick your winner of the May awards.
