Domestic cricket has returned with a stellar April of men’s and women’s county cricket, and you can now vote for your first PCA Player of the Month of 2025.
The top four men’s and women’s domestic players have been announced using the PCA’s Most Valuable Player Rankings, powered by OFX, with the first awards of the year up for grabs.
Sussex opener Tom Haines dominated with the bat to lead April’s MVP Rankings on 122.21 points. The Nottinghamshire duo of Australian overseas Fergus O’Neill and captain Haseeb Hameed take second and fourth spots respectively, as Surrey opener Dom Sibley showed outstanding early season form with the bat taking third place.
The women’s award, meanwhile, is dominated by all-rounders, taking up three out of the four positions. Warwickshire’s Emily Arlott tops the MVP charts in April with 61.58 points. However, she is closely followed by The Blaze star and the PCA Women’s Player of the Year Kathryn Bryce and Lancashire’s Emma Lamb. Durham bowler Phoebe Turner takes the fourth and final place amongst the nominees.
The players are selected by the PCA’s Most Valuable Player Rankings, powered by OFX, which picks out the game’s top performers across every single fixture. This then forms the rankings for each competition, as well as an overall table which is how the top four are selected. The MVP takes into account batting, bowling and fielding contributions as well as match defining contributions using a unique algorithm developed by CricViz.
As in 2024, the PCA Player of the Month will be decided by a 50:50 split between the PCA MVP Rankings and the public vote below – with the poll closing on 2 May at 10pm. With a short window to have your say, vote now to pick your winner of the April awards.
