THE PCA APPOINTS MARCUS DAY AS COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR

THE PCA Appoints Marcus Day as Commercial Director The Professional Cricketers’ Association have appointed Marcus Day as their new Commercial Director. Day joins the PCA having spent 10 years at 4Sports & Entertainment where he managed professional golfers including Ryder Cup-winners Justin Rose and Paul Lawrie. He also developed commercial revenue through global strategic partnerships with numerous national and international brands. Before that, Day spent eight years at IMG where he managed talent, delivered commercial partnerships and a variety of high quality events. ” I’m delighted to join the PCA at an exciting time for cricket and when we have lots of possibilities to further drive the commercial and marketing propositions we have,” Day said. “That will allow us to deliver more value back to both our players and commercial partners and to support the continued development of the PCA and of the PCA Professional Cricketers’ Trust.” Day takes up his position on Monday April 10 and succeeds Johnny Grave, who left the PCA earlier this year to become Chief Executive of the West Indies Cricket Board. Day joins the PCA in a landmark year for the players’ union who are celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year. As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations, the PCA have launched a Legacy Year Appeal to raise an extra £ 250,000 for the PCA Professional Cricketers’ Trust, which supports current and former players and their immediate family members in their hour of need. David Leatherdale, PCA Chief Executive, said: ” Marcus brings to the PCA a wealth of knowledge gained over nearly 20 years working in the commercial and elite sport environment. “He joins us at an exciting time, not only for the PCA but for cricket as a whole.
