Episode 7 - Under The Lid with Nat Sciver-Brunt

Hear from Nat Sciver-Brunt as she announces undergoing egg-freezing treatment.

Nat revealed: “Katherine and myself would love to start a family, but I’d also like to continue playing cricket.

“In the period between getting back from New Zealand and this tour starting, I thought it was a great time for me to go through the egg-freezing process.”

For the Sciver-Brunts, their roles at the forefront of the women’s game are just as important on the pitch as off it with both announcing their desire to carry a baby in the future.

“It just felt like I needed to absolutely be done with cricket and retire before I can even think of that,” added Katherine. “And what if I’m 40 and it’s too late?”

“It’s always been like that for me, but I think for now and anybody from this point on can absolutely see that egg-freezing is a great resource to tap into if you want to quit having those worries,” said Katherine.

The current ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year, added: “The ECB have been really good, all the medical teams have been really supportive making sure my return to cricket has been smooth.”

Nat, who is part of the series squad and aiming to be ready to feature in the final two Vitality IT20s against Pakistan, admitted: “The procedure really wipes you out for a few days.”

Quizzed on the donor by Brooks, Katherine quipped they were aiming for a mixture of Jimmy Anderson and Jos Buttler to the amusement of her co-host and wife.

On the 64-minute episode, Nat also discussed the need for scheduling windows across international and franchise cricket, Amy Jones’ 100th IT20 cap as well as taking on the 60-second ‘Last Round’ quiz amongst many more talking points.
