The PCA will celebrate International Women’s Day in 2026 with the #GivetoGain in Sport event at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Thursday 5 March.

The Association, in partnership with the ECB, aims to explore this year’s International Women’s Day theme, #GivetoGain, with an exciting event focussing on driving positive change in the world of sport.

Following on from the success of the #AccelerateAction event last year and #InspireInclusion from 2024, the occasion presents an opportunity for a day filled with insightful discussions, forward-thinking brands and networking opportunities with like-minded people.

The event will take place at the Nursery Pavilion at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Thursday 5 March 2026 from 10:30am until 2pm. There will also be a chance to participate in a cricket taster session from 2pm for an hour with PCA Legends captain Alex Tudor.

The much anticipated panel discussions will see a series of trailblazers in sport consider how leaders can foster generosity and the importance of giving in partnerships.

Following a welcome from Donna Fraser OBE, the PCA’s Director of People, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, the first panel titled ‘How Leaders Can Foster Generosity’ will be led by women’s cricket commentator Claire Jenkins as she will be posing questions to Surrey captain Bryony Smith, ECB Deputy CEO Clare Connor CBE, Sport & Recreation Alliance CEO Lisa Wainwright MBE and Theo Gordon of the ACE Programme, and will be succeeded by an audience questions and answer session.

Meanwhile, there will be a marketplace showcasing innovative brands, bringing light to upcoming and established businesses in the space of supporting women in sport.

Women’s sport advocate and former England rugby union star turned pundit Ugo Monye will deliver a keynote address before the second panel ‘The Role of Generosity in Partnerships’ commences, consisting of Yorkshire County Cricket Club President Dr Jane Powell, Anna Allerton from Field to Boardroom, FCB London CEO Frazer Gibney and Maeve McMahon of OFX, the PCA’s official FX partner.

Baroness Sue Campbell, former Chair of UK Sport and Head of Women’s Football at the FA, will deliver the closing address.

At last year’s event, the PCA released a groundbreaking Women’s Impact Report ‘Accelerating Action for players’, detailing the recent advancements in the women’s game and future ambitions of the Association, alongside areas where improvements are still needed to be made.

This year holds particular importance in women’s cricket on the international level with a home T20 World Cup beginning for England in June.

The event comes a month before Yorkshire women play their first game as a professional outfit with nine teams now competing in Tier 1 of the women’s structure. This increases the number of professional female cricketers in England and Wales to 168, up from 24 in 2020.

PCA Director of People, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, Donna Fraser OBE, said: “Following two enjoyable and engaging events in #AccelerateAction and #InspireInclusion, it gives me great pleasure to welcome people to our next celebration of International Women’s Day, #GivetoGain in Sport.

“Some incredible work has been completed progressing women’s sport around the world in recent years with cricket leading such innovation by increasing the number of professional players and the improving the provisions that they receive, whilst striving for better minimum standards.”

ECB Deputy CEO & Managing Director of England Women, Clare Connor CBE, said:

“We are proud to be supporting the PCA for the #GivetoGain in Sport event celebrating International Women’s Day. I’m very much looking forward to taking part in the first panel which will create engaging discussions as we look to foster generosity and explore the importance of giving in partnerships in the sphere of women’s sport.

“Celebrating such days are important as we recognise the great strides made in women’s cricket recently, whilst acknowledging the areas where improvement is still needed.”
