PCA statement on Bangladesh Statement from David Leatherdale, Chief Executive Officer of the Professional Cricketers’ Association, on Bangladesh: “After meeting with the players in late August, England players were given the opportunity to make a personal choice on whether they wished to be available to tour Bangladesh while understanding there was a recommendation from Reg Dickason, the ECB’s Head of Security, that it was safe to tour. “They were also given time to think about their decision as many were in the middle of an important one-day series against Pakistan. “After careful consideration, Eoin Morgan and Alex Hales have decided, for many reasons they have already outlined, that they will not be travelling to Bangladesh. We appreciate that this was a difficult choice for Eoin and Alex to reach and their decision should be respected “The PCA remains committed to supporting the England players and the ECB on the tour of Bangladesh.” David Leatherdale, who formed part of a three-man team who made security visits to Bangladesh and India last month, will accompany the England team and senior executives on part of the Bangladesh tour. {{ak_sharing}}
