PCA Masters Side Announced – 24/07/2003 The Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA) has unveiled its PCA Masters team that will take on South Africa on 6th August at the Shenley Cricket Centre, Hertfordshire. Start time is 2pm. Master XI v South Africa Allan Donald (Capt) Daryll Cullinan Angus Fraser Usman Afzaal Stuart Law Warren Hegg (Wkt) Aravinda de Silva Kumar Sangakkara Chaminda Vaas Will Jefferson Graham Napier Jefferson and Napier are England Academy players whose selection represents an opportunity to shine against the South Africans. Barbarians Of Cricket "The Masters are going to become the Barbarians of cricket," said Richard Bevan, group chief executive of the PCA. "The team brings together some of the best players in the world and then asks them to entertain. It is very rare that so many famous names from the sport are gathered on the same pitch so we’re expecting a tremendous match." Fast-flowing The PCA Masters game will be a fast-flowing version of the traditional one-day format with both sides bating twice and each innings limited to 20 overs. Tickets Please!
