PCA Instrumental In David Sales Contract Negotiation – 03/07/2008 The Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA), the representative body for past, present and future first class cricketers, last week successfully concluded contractual negotiations on behalf of Northamptonshire’s David Sales. Sales, a prolific batsman, was offered terms by several counties, before agreeing to re-sign at Northants on a four-year deal. David Sales said: "The PCA did a great job for me, were thoroughly professional and offered me sound advice. I’m very happy with the outcome and to be staying at Northants’." Mark Tagg, Northamptonshire CCC Chief Executive commented: "As always the PCA were very professional in manner, importantly understanding the position of not only their members but also of Northants’ Cricket." The PCA have offered a free negotiator service to its members for the last three years, in addition to comprehensive member benefits which include insurance (permanent and temporary disablement, critical illness and 356 day travel cover), a comprehensive personal development programme, legal and financial advice. Since the scheme’s inception, 25 players have benefited from this service. Northamptonshire Director of Cricket, David Capel, remarked: "I got involved with negotiations near to the conclusion of the deal. It worked well and I’m very supportive of the service that PCA are offering."
