PCA demands that player safety is never compromised – 20/04/12

PCA demands that player safety is never compromised – 20/04/12 The Professional Cricketers Association has joined the Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations (FICA), the Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA) and the South African Cricketers’ Association (SACA) in condemning the proposed tour of Pakistan by Bangladesh. PCA Chief Executive, Angus Porter, said, “Whilst recent developments suggest the proposed visit to Pakistan by the Bangladesh cricket team may not now take place, we should all be concerned that this tour was ever contemplated. It is vital for world cricket that Pakistan plays a full role in the International calendar, but nothing has changed for the better since it was judged unsafe for matches in the 2011 World Cup to be held in that country. Administrators must accept their responsibility for ensuring that the safety of players and officials is never compromised whenever and wherever international cricket is played.” For further comment, please call PCA Chief Executive, Angus Porter, on 07584 262083.
