The PCA has strengthened its commitment to supporting players and getting fans more engaged in the sport by agreeing to a new three-year partnership with The Cricket Draft, the UK’s leading fantasy cricket platform.
This renewed agreement builds on a successful collaboration first established in 2021, ensuring that the partnership will continue delivering meaningful benefits for both professional players and cricket fans through to at least 2029.
As a first-of-its-kind initiative, this partnership provides The Cricket Draft licensed access to player image and data while generating vital funds that are reinvested directly into PCA membership support.
Over the next three years, this collaboration will cover all major county men’s and women’s competitions. The collective rights revenue will be instrumental in the PCA delivering key initiatives, including mental health awareness workshops and social media and communications training for players as part of the Personal Development and Welfare Programme.
Built on a vision to bring fans together and closer to the action, The Cricket Draft has continued to grow at an incredible pace, firmly establishing itself as the UK’s most-played fantasy cricket game. Via its app and website, The Cricket Draft’s state-of-the-art games will now include dedicated competitions across the Rothesay County Championship, the Men’s and Women’s Vitality Blast, and the Men’s and Women’s Metro Bank One Day Cup.
PCA Chief Executive, Daryl Mitchell, said: “We’re delighted to extent our partnership with The Cricket Draft, which has been a brilliant supporter of the professional game over the last five years. Being able to reinvest into directly supporting the players is a huge benefit of the partnership and therefore goes towards helping our members. The Cricket Draft finding ways to deepen fan engagement across all our county competitions is a huge positive for the game in England and Wales.”
The Cricket Draft Co-Founder, John Welch, said: “The PCA has been a fantastic partner since day one, and we are thrilled to extend our collaboration into this next phase of growth. Our mission has always been to support domestic cricket, champion its players, and enhance fan engagement. It is an absolute privilege to be a staple of many county fans’ cricketing summer. Hearing from supporters that we provide a platform enabling them to engage more deeply than ever before with domestic competitions, is music to our ears. With a new three-year agreement in place, we’re excited to continue innovating, expanding our competitions, and giving back to the sport we love.”
