Jack Bannister Memorial Service A Memorial Service for Jack Bannister, the former Warwickshire seam bowler and former Chairman, Secretary and President of the PCA, will be held in the Banqueting Hall at Edgbaston Cricket Ground on May 9 (12pm). Bannister, who passed away in January aged 85, was awarded a PCA Special Merit Award in 2011 in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Association which he helped to form in 1967. He took 1,198 wickets in 374 first-class appearances in a career that spanned 18 years. He later became cricket correspondent of the ‘Birmingham Post’ and was a television commentator in England and South Africa. {{ak_sharing}}
