The polls have now opened to choose your PCA Player of the Month winners for September following the conclusion of domestic cricket.
The top four men’s and women’s domestic players have been announced using the PCA’s Most Valuable Player Rankings, powered by OFX, with these being the final monthly awards of the 2025 domestic season.
September saw five trophies awarded across men’s and women’s county cricket in a packed end to the summer with many outstanding individual performances in the final weeks.
The women’s nominees are made up of players who excelled in the knock-out stages of the Metro Bank One Day Cup. Kathryn Bryce secured the most points with 71.03, largely due to her century in the semi-final while losing finalist Georgia Adams was just 2.49 points behind after an unbeaten century in the semi before 77 in the final. The shortlist is completed by two victorious members of the Lancashire squad in Kate Cross who took three crucial wickets to reach the final and Gaby Lewis who was the Match MVP in the final with an unbeaten 141 in the run-chase.
Northamptonshire’s Saif Zaib led the way in the men’s MVP for September, securing 99.60 MVP points as he impressed in the Vitality Blast knock outs and final County Championship games for Northamptonshire. Tom Taylor ended the season with a bang as he collected 91.38 points and finished as the leading wicket-taker in the Championship. Hampshire pair Toby Albert and Chris Lynn also made an impressive shortlist due to their outstanding efforts, most notably on Blast Finals Day.
The players are selected by the PCA’s Most Valuable Player Rankings, powered by OFX, which picks out the game’s top performers across every single fixture. This then forms the rankings for each competition, as well as an overall table which is how the top four are selected. The MVP takes into account batting, bowling and fielding contributions as well as match defining efforts using a unique algorithm developed by CricViz.
The PCA Player of the Month will be decided by a 50:50 split between the PCA MVP Rankings and the public vote – with the poll closing on 30 September at 10pm. With a short window to have your say, vote now to pick your winner of the September awards.
