ECB Shares Racial Equality Vision – 04/05/2004 The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), through their Clean Bowl Racism campaign, are supporting the national police campaign ‘True Vision’. The project will be launched nationally at Edgbaston cricket ground on Thursday 6th May 2004. True Vision The ‘True Vision’ project has been established to tackle hate crime with a clear way to report crimes of this nature. Launch ECB Racial Equality Consultant, Terry Bates, will be joined at the launch along with Gladstone Small (the former England and Warwickshire cricketer) and Wasim Khan (former Warwickshire and Sussex player). Achieving Racial Equality The ECB was the first organisation of any kind to achieve the Intermediate Level Award of ‘Achieving Racial Equality’ and we will shortly be presenting their submission for the Advanced Level Award. Opportunities Speaking ahead of the launch, Terry Bates said ‘We are pleased to support this police initiative as the game of cricket offers so many wonderful opportunities for youngsters to enjoy sport’.
