Players have voted for their peers ahead of Awards on 9 October.
The shortlists for the 2025 PCA Awards in partnership with Toyota have been revealed, with the players deciding which 14 individual standout performers have excelled over the last 12 months.
With players voting based on the outstanding individuals across domestic and international cricket, Warwickshire’s Ed Barnard is joined by Essex batter Jordan Cox, 2021 winner Joe Root and Surrey’s Dom Sibley on the Toyota PCA Men’s Player of the Year shortlist.
The Toyota PCA Women’s Player of the Year contenders include last year’s winner Kathryn Bryce with The Blaze’s Georgia Elwiss, Lancashire’s Emma Lamb and England captain Sciver-Brunt, all competing for the prize.
The most prestigious cricket awards ceremony in the country also recognises the best rising talents of the game emerging in England and Wales, with those under the age of 24 on 1 April eligible with six nominated for the first time.
A talented shortlist for the Toyota PCA Men’s Young Player of the Year sees Leicestershire’s Rehan Ahmed, Sussex’s James Coles and Glamorgan’s Asa Tribe against each other for the title.
With breakout years in Tier 1 cricket, the Toyota PCA Women’s Young Player of the Year award will be contested by Lancashire’s Ailsa Lister, Hampshire’s Ella McCaughan and Warwickshire’s Perrin.
All shortlisted players have been voted for by their peers, with the four headline award winners revealed at Exhibition White City, London on Thursday 9 October.

Toyota PCA Men’s Player of the Year
Warwickshire’s all-rounder Barnard produced a standout 2025. The 29-year-old won the PCA Men’s Domestic Overall MVP award with 555.82 MVP points which highlights his fantastic all-round abilities this summer.
Scoring an unbelievable 1,615 runs, including four hundreds, alongside taking 43 wickets, Barnard has been shortlisted for the second time at the PCA Awards.
Cox has amassed a mammoth 1,667 runs in the last 12 months, which included a new T20 career best, an unbeaten 139 off just 60 balls.
The 24-year-old was named The Hundred Men’s Player of the Year, finishing the competition as the leading run-scorer.
Meanwhile, England’s all-time leading run-scorer and winner of the 2021 award, Root added another 1,920 international runs to his tremendous tally in the last 12 months.
The 34-year-old added career bests of 262 in Tests, alongside an unbeaten 166 in ODIs.
Opener Sibley was once again the rock of Surrey’s line-up, scoring an impressive 1,501 runs with four centuries, which included a new career best of 305.
The 30-year-old finished the season as the leading run-scorer in County Championship Division One with an average of 60.

Toyota PCA Women’s Player of the Year
Last year’s winner is nominated again as Bryce enjoyed a brilliant all-round 12 months scoring a huge 1,597 runs and taking 57 wickets.
The 27-year-old Scotland captain won the PCA Women’s Domestic Overall MVP alongside the Metro Bank One Day Cup Women’s Player of the Year.
Newly appointed PCA Vice Chair, Elwiss scored over 1,000 runs in 2025, including 10 half centuries and took 16 wickets.
The 34-year-old has enjoyed a resurgence to her career at The Blaze and finished third in the Women’s Overall MVP Rankings.
Meanwhile, Lancashire’s Lamb produced a thrilling year with the bat scoring 1,312 domestic runs and adding 14 wickets.
The 27-year-old finished the season as the leading One Day Cup run-scorer with 794 and is part of England Women’s World Cup squad after a productive summer, hitting two ODI half-centuries.
A two-time winner and remarkably a nominee on nine of the previous 11 occasions, Sciver-Brunt scored over 1,000 international runs in the last year.
The 33-year-old new mother also showed her international pedigree as the leading WPL run-scorer with a staggering 523 runs at an average of 65.

Toyota PCA Men’s Young Player of the Year
Leicestershire’s Ahmed produced an outstanding season, scoring five First-Class hundreds to help his side to promotion. The 21-year-old also took 44 wickets across formats and is in England’s winter white-ball squads.
Sussex all-rounder Coles scored an impressive 1,553 runs including four centuries and took 35 wickets in 2025. The 21-year-old also earnt an England Lions appearance.
Six hundreds were enjoyed by Tribe in 2025 as the promotion winner hit three in the Championship. The 21-year-old also impressed in 50-over cricket, reaching three figures twice for Glamorgan and once for Jersey.

Toyota PCA Women’s Young Player of the Year
Scottish international Lister scored 490 domestic runs in 2025 with a high score of 96. The 21-year-old also had a strike-rate of 148 in the Blast.
Hampshire’s McCaughan scored the first ever hundred in the Women’s Vitality Blast as well as an unbeaten 133 in the Metro Bank One Day Cup, amassing 676 runs in 2025, despite being injured since mid-June.
Warwickshire’s 19-year-old superstar Perrin scored over 1,000 runs this season, including a blistering 42-ball century in The Hundred Eliminator for Northern Superchargers and played twice for England A.
Shortlisted players found out the good news of their nomination via a mixture of team huddles, family members and friends as they were handed a special ticket as a VIP invite to the most prestigious awards ceremony in English cricket.
