Kathryn Bryce has won the PCA Women’s Domestic Overall MVP, powered by OFX, for the second year in a row, alongside claiming the Metro Bank One Day Cup Women’s Player of the Year title.
Following a dominant season with The Blaze, Bryce scored a phenomenal 1,144 runs and took 44 wickets across the Vitality Blast, The Hundred and Metro Bank One Day Cup.
Finishing top of the PCA Most Valuable Player (MVP) Rankings, powered by OFX, Bryce accumulated a mammoth 482.52 MVP points throughout the season, with 226.13 of those coming in the Metro Bank One Day Cup, 193.27 in the Vitality Blast and 63.13 points in The Hundred.
This means that the Trent Bridge based all-rounder managed to better her total from last season by an impressive 88.16 points. This was down to her being more prolific with bat and ball, scoring 276 runs and taking 12 wickets more than in 2024.
The Scottish international won a bespoke Mappin & Webb trophy and £7,500 for the Overall MVP, with an additional trophy and £2,500 for winning the Metro Bank accolade.
The 27-year-old secured six Match MVP awards – three in the Metro Bank One Day Cup, two in The Hundred and one in the Vitality Blast.
In the 50-over competition, Bryce finished as the second leading run-scorer with 632 at an average of 48.61, including one century and six fifties. She also took 18 wickets at an average of 28.16 with an impressive economy rate of just 4.50.
Her first Match MVP of the season came against Lancashire in the Metro Bank One Day Cup, where she earned 29.79 MVP points after scoring 70 off 90 balls and figures of 1-43. She recorded another Match MVP against the same opponents in the semi-final, although her superb innings of 124 and points total of 34.10 was in vain as The Blaze fell five runs short of their target.
In the same competition, Bryce also showed why she is such a highly regarded all-rounder with her bowling display against Warwickshire, earning 20.85 points and another Match MVP for impeccable figures of 5-38 as The Blaze won by 41 runs.
In The Hundred, Bryce’s best all-round display came against Trent Rockets as her figures of 2-19 and an unbeaten 61 helped Manchester Originals to a 10-wicket victory and added a further 32.65 points to her MVP tally.
She also fell narrowly short of a trio of domestic awards as she finished second in the Women’s Vitality Blast MVP Rankings, which she topped last season, by less than a point. Despite this, Bryce enjoyed another successful T20 campaign with 370 runs at an average of 41.11 and 16 wickets at 16.41.
Showing her true adaptability in all formats, Bryce also achieved a Blast Match MVP and another 40.06 MVP points against Essex, producing brilliant figures of 2-11 and scoring an unbeaten 51 to help her side secure a seven-wicket win.
The PCA Women’s Domestic Overall MVP, powered by OFX, saw the all-rounder battling with Emma Lamb at the top of the standings for much of the season. The formula enables players to score or lose MVP points on every ball based on their expected performance in comparison to CricViz’s extensive historical database, with the venue being played at also taken into account.
After being named the Overall MVP and the Metro Bank One Day Cup Player of the Year, Bryce said: “I’m really proud to be able to back it up from last year, which was an incredible season for the team and saw us win our first trophy. To be able to put in more performances for the team this year was a huge achievement. We were disappointed not to be in the finals this year, but I was happy to put in the performances for the team.
“I’ve been a bit more balanced between bat and ball, I’ve been more consistent and able to put in performances in the 50-over format and take more wickets which has been really good.
“Lots of different people have stood up throughout the year, which has been really exciting and shows our depth of squad.
“It’s a really nice thing to be able to win. My teammates have been keeping me informed as to how the MVP was going but it’s been great to see Georgia Elwiss near the top as well this year, which shows how well she’s done.”
Missing out to Bryce in the Overall MVP and the Metro Bank One Day Cup award, Lamb finished second in both MVP tables. She earned a total of 451.23 points, with 201.74 coming in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
Lamb flourished in the 50-over format, finishing the competition as the leading run-scorer with 794 at an average of 72.18 and picking up three Match MVPs along the way.
Her highest scoring performance came against Essex in July, where her innings of 142 from 109 balls – one of two centuries and eight times in total she would pass 50 during the tournament – led her side to a comfortable 138-run win and saw her register 30.07 MVP points.
Lamb’s outstanding season also saw her return to England’s ODI squad this summer and led to her selection for the Women’s ODI World Cup, which is due to start in India and Sri Lanka next month.
Hampshire captain Georgia Adams came home in third position in the Metro Bank One Day Cup MVP standings with 187.63 points, scoring 525 runs and taking 14 wickets in the process.
Adams’ standout List A performance came in the semi-final against Surrey, where her unbeaten 107 helped Hampshire chase down 288 to book a place in the final. Her efforts with the bat saw her yield 31.88 MVP points.
She also produced an important performance in the final, scoring 77, however, it was not enough as Hampshire were defeated by Lancashire, to win their maiden Tier 1 trophy.
Bryce, meanwhile, joins Durham’s Suzie Bates and Northern Superchargers’ Phoebe Litchfield in winning a women’s domestic MVP honour in 2025. Bates secured the Vitality Blast Women’s Player of the Year, while Litchfield was awarded The Hundred Women’s Player of the Year earlier this season.
