Women’s Coach/Player-coach

St. Albans Cricket Club is excited to invite applications for a female coach or player-coach to lead and support our growing women’s cricket programme for the 2026 season.

We pride ourselves on creating an inclusive, supportive environment for players of all ages and abilities. Our women’s teams continue to develop rapidly, and we are seeking an inspirational leader to help take us to the next level.

Role Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and committed female coach or player-coach to work with our women’s squads from April to September 2026. The role includes coaching at weekly training sessions (Wednesday evenings), supporting player development, and contributing to matchday preparation and performance. A player-coach role is ideal for someone who wants to contribute on and off the field.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality training sessions for our women’s hardball and softball teams
  • Provide coaching across core cricket skills, tactical knowledge, and fitness
  • Support team selection and match preparation
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating team atmosphere
  • Become part of the club’s wider coaching leadership team
  • Optional: contribute as a player in league (Sundays) and/or friendly fixtures

What We’re Looking For

  • A qualified playing or non-playing cricket coach (ECB Core qualification or above required)
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Passion for supporting women’s cricket at all levels
  • Reliability, availability and enthusiasm throughout the season
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (if applicable)
