The Futures Fund is an initiative to aid the transition of players at the end of their playing careers to the next steps of their working life. Players will be able to apply for financial support upon retirement from the professional game.
The Fund was initially created as part of the 2020-2024 County Partnership Agreement to support individuals through their transition into a second career after leaving the county game. This means a specified amount of money will be made available annually to the PCA in order to support players in the period after retirement from cricket. All Professional Counties contribute 3% of their Team Salary Payment from their professional men’s and women’s squads into the Fund every year and it is managed by the PCA.
This money is paid into a discretionary trust managed by an independent group of Trustees on behalf of the PCA and those players who left the game in 2020 were the the first to benefit.
The form is administered by the PCA but will be reviewed by the Futures Fund Independent Trustees and those who left the game in 2025 need to apply before 30th January 2026 to be considered.
