With over 400 games for the club, winning seven trophies in eight years as Surrey captain, Adam Hollioake knows the Kia Oval as well as anyone.
His is a familiar name around the ground too – from Smokie’s Bar to the honours boards to the Hollioake Gate, the former England captain is firmly part of the Surrey furniture.
Ahead of the second Test between England and New Zealand earlier this year, the former all-rounder met with Beyond the Boundaries to revisit his favourite parts of the ground. The tour started at the Hollioake Gate, before weaving in and out of the pavilion and ending up, inevitably, at Smokie’s, the bar named in his honour.
Hollioake was at the ground for one of the PCA’s premium hospitality experiences, where he joined guests for a breakfast Q&A before spending the day enjoying world-class Test cricket.
