The final PCA Teams of the Month for 2026 have been selected using the PCA’s Most Valuable Player Rankings, powered by OFX.

With competitions reaching dramatic climaxes, wins for Warwickshire and Durham in the Rothesay County Championship, and Middlesex and The Blaze in the Metro Bank One Day Cup, see players from each victorious side make the lineup.

George Hill captains the men’s team having finished top of the September table, a fitting end to his fantastic year. The Yorkshireman is one of four seam-bowling all-rounders in the XI, with Craig Overton, Ryan Higgins and Lewis Gregory also selected.

Overton is selected for his fifth Team of the Month in 2026, days after claiming the Toyota PCA Men’s Player of the Year award. He is joined by his Somerset teammate Gregory, who took 19 wickets at 19.58.

Higgins made his maiden List A century as Middlesex won the Metro Bank One Day Cup final, securing their first List A trophy in 36 years. Also at the crease was Harry Duke, who produced a gritty 55 and takes the gloves for the September XI.

Several of the batters posted huge scores during the month. Somerset duo Tom Lammonby and Tom Abell put on a colossal partnership of 334 as they hit 229 and 307 respectively. Asa Tribe reached scores of 155 and 184 in consecutive matches, a strong finish to the season for the promising young opener.

Warwickshire’s Sam Hain and Ethan Bamber make the side after clinching the Division One title. Bamber was also nominated for Player of the Month having led the September bowling table and finishes as Division One’s leading wicket-taker with 69. Hain scored 418 runs in just five games at an astonishing average of 139.33.

The women’s side is captained by Hampshire spinner Amanda-Jade Wellington. As part of her prolific month, she took 5-25 against Yorkshire, only to then better those figures with 5-19 against Surrey two games later.

She is joined by Hampshire teammates Maia Bouchier, Georgia Adams and Poppy Tulloch. Bouchier tops the batting table for September with two centuries in just three games, 118 against The Blaze and an unbeaten 117 against Surrey were signs of her flourishing end of season form.

Hampshire were beaten in the 50-over final by The Blaze, who won their third trophy of the season. Sarah Bryce takes the gloves for the team while Lucy Higham features thanks to 10 wickets, including two four-wicket hauls in September. Bryce was unbeaten in innings of 54 and 70 on The Blaze’s route to One Day Cup victory.

Toyota PCA Women’s Player of the Year Sophie Luff is in at three having scored 108 in her final game of the season, a fitting conclusion for the Somerset captain. Hollie Armitage is also included after her selection in Metro Bank PCA Women’s Team of the Year. The Durham captain scored 195 runs in three games, including a magnificent 107 against Warwickshire.

The PCA’s MVP system compares player performances against expected outputs for each match, adjusting for venue conditions using CricViz data. The result is a ball-by-ball ranking designed to reflect true performance.

The teams have been selected to form realistic and balanced sides, meaning Olly Stone misses out despite an electric finish to the season. He finished third in the bowling rankings but the performances of Bamber, Overton, Gregory and Hill see him omitted. In the women’s team, Women’s Domestic Overall MVP Jess Jonassen does not make the side with so many bowling options already available.
