Adam Hose and Ailsa Lister are rewarded with the PCA Player of the Month awards for their excellent performances in June.

The duo were shortlisted for the awards through the PCA’s Most Valuable Player Rankings, powered by OFX. The unique algorithm selected the top four men’s and women’s players before they faced a public vote, with the winners decided by a 50:50 split between the two.

Hose’s efforts in June saw him achieve 145.85 MVP points and 46.45% of the public vote. The combination of the two saw the batter pip Northamptonshire Steelbacks captain David Willey to the honour. Meanwhile, the Surrey duo of Dom Sibley and Will Jacks finished third and fourth, respectively.

In the women’s game, Lister secured 41% of the public vote following a month which saw her pick up 125.63 MVP points. The Scotland international finished ahead of Hampshire’s PCA Representative Ella McCaughan with Surrey’s Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Grace Harris occupying third and fourth spots.

Adam Hose wins the third PCA Player of the Month in 2025

Hose had a stellar month of June with the bat across both the Rothesay County Championship and the Vitality Blast. The right-handed batter scored 568 runs from nine games at an average of 63.11.

After amassing 145.85 MVP points, the Worcestershire batter also found a place in the PCA Team of the Month in the top-order.

Across June, Hose won two Match MVPs. The first came against Notts Outlaws in the Blast where he scored 95 off 51 balls to take his side to a 25-run victory. His efforts at Trent Bridge saw him achieve 36.17 points.

The 32-year-old’s most recent Match MVP was against Hampshire in the County Championship where he scored a brilliant 266 off just 253 balls in the first innings whilst forging a 395-run partnership with Worcestershire captain Jake Libby. His career best First-Class score yielded him 57.49 MVP points.

After starring with the bat in June, Adam Hose said: “It is really nice to look back at a crazy month also with the arrival of mine and my wife’s first child in May. It took my mind off the cricket, so I just went out there and managed to put in some good performances. Looking back, I’m really happy to be able to contribute to some wins for Worcestershire and hopefully I can continue with that.

“Last week was really special. A couple of years ago, I moved from Warwickshire to Worcestershire to play more red-ball cricket. That move has given me more opportunities and I feel like I have been close to providing some really good outcomes without necessarily having those big scores. So, to get it last week and to go on and make a big score was a great memory which I will look back on fondly.

“Winning the award is great. You never set out to win these accolades, but it is always nice to be recognised. To gain the votes from the public is really special and something I am very grateful for.

“A lot of people say that a new-born child helps with your cricket. It might just be a coincidence, but I just haven’t had the time to think about my game. Sometimes you can get distracted by things away from the game so having that freshness of turning up and playing has been working well.”

Ailsa Lister wins her first PCA Player of the Month accolade

Lister had a productive month of June for Lancashire playing in the Blast. The 21-year-old scored 230 runs at a strike-rate of 174.24 whilst averaging 57.5 batting in the middle-order. Her efforts with the bat saw her win her first PCA Player of the Month award.

Similar to Hose, Lister also found a place in the Team of the Month after earning 125.63 MVP points.

Across the previous month, the wicketkeeper-batter won one Match MVP which came against The Blaze where she picked up 44.58 points. Capped 47 times by Scotland, Lister managed to score 79 from just 38 balls, scoring nine fours and three sixes along the way. Despite her stellar innings, Lancashire ended up on the losing side at the Uptonsteel County Ground.

Following a triumphant month of June, Ailsa Lister said: “I am really proud to win the PCA Player of the Month. I am glad to have made significant contributions for Lancashire. It has been nice to get a good run of games in the team and put in some performances which makes me happy, and this award is just a mark of that.

“At the start of the Blast, I felt like I was making some decent contributions towards the back end of the innings by trying to score as many runs as possible. However, against The Blaze, I was in a bit earlier giving me more time to contribute which was good fun.

“Being a pinch-hitter is something that I have been working on. I would say my power has always been a strength, so I was refining my skills across the winter whilst still maintaining that power. I am happy that things did work out that way where I am always looking for the boundaries and look to put a little bit of pressure back on the opposition which I have been doing relatively successfully.

“Sometimes you don’t realise how much attention the women’s game is getting now so to get the voting from the people across the country makes me really proud. I am just happy that I could contribute to the team and this award is an added bonus.”
