The men’s and women’s MVP Teams of the Month for June have been announced using the PCA’s Most Valuable Player Rankings, powered by OFX.

Using the MVP’s unique algorithms, players have been selected based on their excellent performances with the bat, ball and in the field over the month of June with these teams being the third iteration in the 2025 domestic season.

The men’s team is selected based on MVP points the players have earned in the month of June as well as the first two days of July due to the overlapping of round 10 of the Rothesay County Championship.

Former England all-rounder David Willey leads the team after playing a key role in Northamptonshire Steelback’s solid start to the Vitality Blast season. The left-handed pace bowler contributed 10 wickets, 182 runs and took 12 catches to register 155.69 MVP points.

Top order batting consists of Dom Sibley and Adam Hose who both had career best outings in the recently concluded round of the County Championship, scoring 305 and 266 respectively.

Sussex have the highest contingent with three players in James Coles, Nathan McAndrew and wicketkeeper John Simpson. The latter returns to the Team of the Month for a second time this season after first featuring in April.

Nottinghamshire’s Liam Patterson-White leads the spin attack having picked up 20 wickets and secured 82.82 bowling points last month.

In the women’s team, Surrey opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge captains the side after a fruitful month with the bat. The England batter scored 319 runs in the Vitality Blast in June at an average of 53.17 to accumulate 148.90 MVP points. She is joined by Hampshire’s PCA Representative Ella McCaughan as the second opener. The 22-year-old scored 259 runs from just four games, including a 60-ball 106 against Essex.

The batting line up also consists of the in-form Sterre Kalis, Nat Wraith as wicketkeeper and Durham’s Suzie Bates, who finds herself in a PCA Team of the Month for a second successive month.

The bowling features the Essex duo of Esmae MacGregor and Eva Gray with the pair taking 21 wickets between them in June.

Surrey feature the most players in the Women’s Team of the Month. Joining Wyatt-Hodge are Ryana MacDonald-Gay and Grace Harris.

The PCA’s MVP system works by comparing a player’s accomplishments against the expected performance for that game. Runs and wickets achieved at each ground are also considered and compared to the average. This enables players to score or lose MVP points on every ball through CricViz’s extensive historical database, the rankings are a true reflection of performance.

The teams have been selected using a traditional, balanced side. This meant that even though Glamorgan batter Asa Tribe picked up 99.43 batting points, he could not find a place in the side due to other openers having more points in the form of Sibley and Tom Kohler-Cadmore.

Likewise in the women’s game, despite picking up more fielding points as wicketkeeper, Surrey’s Kira Chathli misses out to Wraith as the Warwickshire keeper had significantly more batting points to find a place in the middle-order.
