Durham native Scott Steel progressed through the academy to make his debut in each format in 2019. An aggressive white ball opening batter, Scott had success in the One Day cup and Blast, scoring 369 runs in the latter in his first season. He made the switch to Leicestershire for the 2021 season where he appeared most frequently for the Foxes in T20 cricket, the highlight being a 72 against Birmingham Bears at Edgbaston in 2022. Following the 2023 season his contract was not renewed.
