Year-Round Self- Employed Opportunities for Qualified Male & Female Sports Coaches – in the Reading area and wider Berkshire.
Do you have the energy, drive and passion to introduce children as young as 2 ½ years old and developing their physical, social and essential life skills through Softball Cricket?
Little Wickets Coaches Need:
- An affinity with and patience to work with really young Kids (A sense of Fun is essential!)
- The ability to think on your feet & to create a fun and safe environment for children.
- Excellent Communication Skills. You must have the ability to communicate at all levels with the kids, their parents and with the Little Wickets’ management and mentoring team.
- The organisational skills to be able to work independently and as part of a larger team.
- To be Over 18 Years Old.
- A minimum of a UKCC Level 1 Sports Qualification (e.g. ECB Foundation/Level 1 or above).
- Proof of undertaking a Safeguarding Children of ECB Safe Hands course within the last 3 years.
- Ideally have direct experience in an Early Years and/or Key Stage 1 environment.
- All Stars & Dynamos Activator Experience is an advantage.
- A current Enhanced Child Workforce DBS certificate as a Paid Coach. If you have a Voluntary DBS certificate a paid-for one can be arranged through Little Wickets.
- Registered with the DBS Update Service with a paid-for DBS (see above).
- Your own insurance for delivery of cricket &/or traditional games to children, with a minimum of £1m Public Liability cover. Membership of the ECB Coach Association includes the necessary Insurance.
- A current First Aid Certificate.
- Your own transport.
- Availability on an ongoing basis to deliver a minimum of 2 Hours of Coaching per week during term-time &/or during School Holidays. Ideally you will need to be able to commit to at least one full term of coaching at the same time each week.
What’s in it for you:
- Self-employed (sub-contractor) coaching with Flexibility around existing Study & Work commitments.
- Rates from £17 to £30 per hour dependent on experience.
- Hours agreed to suit applicant up to 7 days a week including daytime weekday sessions, early evenings & weekends.
- Hours available year-round, during term time & school holidays.
- Being part of a great team of experienced Little Wickets coaches & ongoing support and mentoring as required.
