Cricket Development Manager – Penrith CC
Penrith Cricket Club wishes to appoint an experienced, committed and forward-thinking cricket coach in the role of Cricket Development Manager to oversee the progression of players in local schools and at the Club at all levels. The role is all about developing more opportunities for boys, girls, women, men and youngsters with disabilities, to further enhance our junior and senior sections and become a truly inclusive club at the very heart of our local community.
The Club has a formal written agreement with Ullswater Community College, well-developed links with Queen Elizabeth Grammar School and the junior schools in Eden. The CDM will lead school based coaching sessions on a weekly basis throughout the academic year, offering different age groups blocks of coaching and signpost talented and interested youngsters to PCC sessions. Additionally, the role involves supporting and developing the current programme of senior and junior cricket provision. This crucial role is a permanent position for a minimum of 21 months, on a part time, self-employed basis. The club has been successful with a funding application and are awaiting the outcome of several other bids. Should any of these additional bids be successful the contract will be extended beyond the current 21 months. At the end of the contract the aspiration is that the successful candidate will continue the project by setting up their own cricket coaching business using the contacts gained throughout the initial contract with the club and partners.
There is also considerable scope for additional coaching hours should the successful candidate be interested in making this a full-time role. Additional schools coaching is also available through the Eden Valley Schools’ Sports Partnership, as well 1 to 1 private coaching sessions and school holiday coaching camps using the clubs’ facilities.
