The role of Development Coach
The Development Coach on a Prince's Trust Team provides an unparalleled opportunity to effectively gain leadership and management skills through implementing real projects within a real team over 20 days.
Working alongside a Team Leader, the Development Coach supports young people with their personal skills development. Responsibilities are carefully tailored to meet individual development needs.
Many well-known private and public sector companies including BT and the Inland Revenue second their staff as Development Coaches to help them develop their management skills.
In this role, PCA members can develop key transferable skills, including:
- Decision making
- Mentoring
- Positive influencing
- Presentation skills
- Time and project management
- Team development.
A City & Guilds ‘Profile of Achievement’ Certificate can be attained to record these areas of development.
