England team visit Indian SOS Children’s Village
While the England team have been busy on the pitch over the last few days, entertaining the crowds in the first test at Multan, members of the squad spent time prior to the match, visiting the SOS Children’s Village, to encourage the children by showcasing their skills.
England players Andrew Flintoff, Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell, Shaun Udal, Matt Prior and Liam Plunkett travelled to the village in Multan to donate cricket equipment, tour the village and test their talents against those of the children, in an impromptu training session.
The visit to the village, which provides care to children up to the age of 18 who have been orphaned or abandoned, helps to raise the profile of worthwhile causes in Pakistan. The children warmly welcomed the cricketers who visited - one fan was invited by the players to be the (Vodafone) England team mascot for the first test.
