Irish Cricketers Take Part in The Big Bike RideIreland’s Gary Wilson and William Porterfield are raising money for Cancer Research by completing the Irish Cricket’s Big Bike Ride in October 2012. The event will take place over five days, starting at Mardyke Cricket ground in Cork, and finishing at Stormont Cricket ground in Belfast – 380 miles in total. Sadly, after a long battle, Gary lost his mum Iris to cancer in April 2012. To help other people in the future, Gary and his best friend William decided they wanted to raise money for the charity, and devised this 380 miles in five days bike ride. Gary and William will be completing this challenge over 9th- 13th October 2012, and invite friends, fellow cricketers and celebrities to come along and join in. On the evening of the fifth and final day, there will be a celebratory dinner at Stormont Cricket Ground, which will include a guest speaker, a raffle and an auction. For further information about how to make a donation, or to get in touch, please download this flyer. To follow their progress, please visit www.welivecricket.com/bigbikeride |
