Health partners’ are the administrators of the ECB Healthtrust
Health Partners’ administration and reporting of sports injuries and their treatment spans 12 years. This data, together with their development of a national network of sports treatment and rehabilitation specialists and a balanced, collective approach to pricing negotiations with hospital groups, private clinics and specialist scanning units has created what is regarded by many involved in sports injury treatment as the UK’s leading sports healthcare administration business. In addition, their work and involvement with both the PRA and PFA will, we believe, add significant value to the development of services provided to you as players under the Trust.
We are delighted to be able to benefit from, and add to, the collective experience and purchasing power of The Premier League and England Rugby under the administration services of Health Partners and we are confident that the benefits to The ECB Healthcare Trust will be considerable.
Medical Benefits
- Designed by cricketers for cricketers, the Trust has been established for the benefit of you as players within the County structure. It is overwhelmingly supported by the counties as providing the most efficient and tailored set of medical benefits and tax advantages for professional cricketers.
- Dependants can be included at subscription rates well below standard market rates for private medical insurance.
- The Trust provides referral and access to the country’s top sports treatment and rehabilitation specialists.
Tax Benefits
- P11d dispensation “Benefits in kind” such as access to private medical treatment, paid for by an employer are usually assessable in whole to personal income tax at a player’s highest rate of personal taxation. Currently, only (17%) of the contribution paid on behalf of players under the Trust is assessable. A significant tax saving.

Membership
Membership of the Trust by Players is subject to the participation of their County. The PCA and ECB are keen for the Trust to be adopted by all counties in order to achieve a common set of medical benefits and principles for all players in professional cricket. In line with this objective, Health Partners in conjunction with the PCA will be approaching all non participating counties in the near future in an attempt to secure their membership. In due course Health Partners will be writing to all current members to advise of any revisions to benefits and details of the claims helplines/processes with effect from the 1st April.
For general queries or advice contact claims helpline on 0870 224 7774 or David Graveney on 07825 582982 dgraveney@thepca.co.uk |
