Level 3 information

The PCA and ECB are committed to helping players involved in the professional game who wish to develop their personal and coaching skills and continue to work in performance environments within the game.  The ECB L3 Performance Coach Course is 8 face-to-face contact time days spread over 3 months and is assessed through 6 coaching related tasks which contribute to the UK Coaching Certificate L3 qualification. This qualification is a pre-requisite to attending the ECB L4 Master Coach Programme.  It is expected that from induction to certification the L3 course will take anywhere between 3-6 months depending on personal circumstances.  To help coaches to completion every coach is appointed an experienced mentor to support them. The following active pre-requisites are required to attend the L3 programme and must be in place at the time of application: CRB check, Safeguarding & Protecting Children Certificate, and 1st Aid Certificate (note that each of these pre-requisites must be renewed every 3 years).

The current L3 fee is £750. In order that coaches are committed to complete the qualification all coaches wishing to attend the L3 are required to meet the cost of the course initially which must accompany the application form with the course fee. On successful completion the PCA will reimburse the coach with the full fee. The course does require a significant investment in time from those attending and applicants should ensure that they can allocate sufficient study time before applying.

Course date

Module 1    2/3/4 October
Module 2    13/14/15 November
Module 3    12/13 December
