Malachy ‘Mal’ Loye is a right-handed batsman and a destructive one in one-day cricket, particularly well-known for his explosive slog sweep shot against fast bowlers. Mal played for Northamptonshire from 1991-2002 and in 1998 he was named PCA Player of the Year. Averaging about 48 and scoring more than 900 runs a season, Mal now has over 10,000 first class runs to his name.

In 2003, Mal signed for Lancashire where he has been a mainstay in the top-order. His performance to date has been outstanding and in 2006 he was called up to the England squad for the Hong King Sixes event and finally, in 2007, he made his one-day international debut against Australia at the age of 34, where he was England’s top scorer with an aggressive and entertaining 36 runs off 36 balls.

Mal is pleased to be supporting the CHASE Ben Hollioake Fund and Leukaemia Research.
