The Somerset Cider and Cheese Festival 2012The Somerset Cider and Cheese Festival will take place on Saturday 16 June 2012 at Quantock View in Nether Stowey, Somerset. The Festival is owned and run by ex-Somerset and Hampshire cricketer, John Francis. The venue boasts many acres of land, with two lakes and the Quantock Hills surrounding it, so if the thought of sitting by the lakes, listening to great live music, sipping cider and enjoying a hamper full of local food is a good one, then we hope to see you there. The opening ceremony for The West Country Cheeselympics will be kicking things off – hosted by our very own Cheeselympic Master ‘Bob’ and a special celebrity guest. The Cheeselympics will consist of games such as Apple Smashing, Cheese Tossing, World Cider Pong Championships, Cheese Stick Relay and Cheese Shy. Somerset’s very own Marcus Trescothick and James Hildreth have already demonstrated how hilarious these games are. Live bands will be playing throughout the afternoon, evening and into the night, with fantastic local band, Snappa, headlining. There will be a wonderful selection of local foods at the Festival, with picnic hampers, hog roasts and much more. For further information, please visit our website www.somersetciderfest.co.uk |
