Kempton Park Racecourse

On 26th March 2008, guests joined the PCA and Kempton Park Racecourse at the Royal Box at Kempton for a day at the races. The guests were treated to a drinks reception and buffet lunch before a tipping expert came to explain some of the finer points of racing and go through the day’s form. Dominic Cork and Mark Ramprakash were also in attendance to answer questions from the racegoers on the upcoming season.

The betting was fast and furious and guests were able to chat and network with each other while cheering on the racing and celebrating or commiserating on the results. Money was also raised for the PCA Benevolent Fund through a betting sweepstake.

PCA Annual Business Summit

The PCA Annual Business Summit was held this year on 23rd April 2008 at The Brit Oval with the theme ‘Leading the Field’. Over 200 delegates from PCA Commercial Partners, supporters and stakeholders of the game attended to listen to Col Bob Stewart DSO, former British UN Commander, David Davies OBE, ex-Executive Director of the FA, Mervyn King, Governor of the Bank of England and Mike Brearley OBE, ex-England Captain and President of the MCC.

The Summit was followed by a networking drinks reception where delegates were able to meet and chat about the leadership skills they had learnt through the day.

The day was kindly sponsored by Jardine Lloyd Thompson and VW. In addition to the Summit, 20 of the PCA’s Commercial Partners also took part in an exhibition to showcase their products and services to the delegates in attendance.
