Professional Cricketers' Association Announces Promotions To Its Board - 15/02/2008

The Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA), the representative body for past and present first class cricketers, today announced that Johnny Grave has been promoted to commercial director and Ian Smith has been promoted to legal director. Both have joined the PCA's board and will report to Sean Morris, PCA chief executive.

Sean Morris, PCA chief executive, said: "Johnny and Ian have played extremely valuable roles in the recent development of the PCA. Their skill and dedication means we are better able to represent and protect players and I'm delighted to welcome them to the board."

Johnny joined the PCA in 2007 from Surrey County Cricket Club where he was head of media and sales. In his new role he will be responsible for developing and exploiting new commercial relationships for both the PCA and the Team England Player Partnership.

Ian who was previously head of sport at lawyers, Clarke Willmott, has provided legal counsel to the PCA and its members for the past 12 years. In the past three years he negotiated the new standard contract for players, established cricket's anti-doping education programme and launched a new negotiation service that supports players when agreeing contracts with their clubs.
