PCA Masters Name Twenty20 Team To Take On West Indies - 05/06/2007

The biggest match of the PCA Masters Series takes place against the West Indies at Arundel Castle Cricket Ground on 26th June 2007. The Masters team, playing at the kind invitation of the Duke of Norfolk, is captained by former England Test batsman, Nick Knight.

The team - a formidable mix of youth and experience - is set to give the tourists a real work out ahead of their back-to-back NatWest International Twenty20 matches against England later that week.

The line up is:

  • Nick Knight (captain), Warwickshire & England
  • James Benning, Surrey & England U19
  • Nathan Astle, New Zealand
  • Robin Smith, Hampshire & England
  • Rikki Clarke, Surrey & England
  • James Foster (wicket keeper), Essex & England
  • James Middlebrook, Essex
  • Chris Lewis, Leicestershire & England
  • Martin Bicknell, Surrey & England
  • Nayan Doshi, Surrey
  • Dean Headley, Kent & England

Steve Marsh, events director for the PCA, said: “With nearly 20 matches scheduled for the summer and the appointment of Nick Knight as the side’s permanent captain, the PCA Masters Series is going from strength-to-strength.

“The PCA Masters has become a side to be reckoned with and the lads really rate their chances against this West Indies side. It should prove to be a very keenly contested match.”

Tickets for the PCA Masters match at Arundel Castle, which starts at 5:30pm, are £20 (concessions at £15), proceeds from which will aid the PCA’s benevolent work. Booking in advance is encouraged as this is likely to be a very popular event. Enquiries can be made by phone on 01903 882462 or email to arundelcastlecricket@yahoo.co.uk.
