PCA Charity Golf Day 2007
Little Aston Golf Club
Wednesday 13th June
The first PCA Charity Golf Day this year took place at the Championship golf course of Little Aston, near Sutton Coldfield.
Following a light lunch, seventeen teams battled it out on this demanding course. Unfortunately, the weather conditions presented a major challenge and two lengthy torrential downpours saw all but six teams washed off the course.
England Chairman of Selectors David Graveney braved the elements with Tilney Team 1 to complete all eighteen holes and deservedly win the competition. Volkswagen Team 2 came second with former Sussex and Surrey fast bowler Tony Pigott and Tilney Team 2 finishing a creditable third.
Following a much needed shower, all the teams enjoyed a gala dinner and prize giving in the evening.
This annual PCA Charity Golf Day once again raised much needed funds for the PCA Benevolent Fund, which assists current and past players who may have fallen on hard times or are in need of specialist advice or assistance.
The PCA would like to extend a big thank you to Links of London for providing the prizes; to all the PCA Ambassadors for their support; and also Little Aston Golf Club.
