NatWest PCA Awards 2006On the 25th September, the most prestigious event in the cricketing calendar – the NatWest PCA Awards in association with the ECB – was held at the Royal Albert Hall. This glamorous event saw over 1700 players and stakeholders join the PCA to celebrate yet another great season of cricket and to congratulate those individuals and teams who had achieved great things during the summer. The main award – the NatWest PCA Player of the Year – was won by Mark Ramprakash for his phenomenal performance this year for his county Surrey, while Alastair Cook picked up the NatWest PCA Young Player of the Year. The crowd was entertained by the Mark Butcher Band and also enjoyed a performance by acrobatic act 'Gazelle'. David Gower did a fantastic job as MC for the night and the PCA welcomed back Jonny Gould who raised over £135,000 as auctioneer for the PCA Benevolent Fund. The party continued afterwards at the exclusive After Show Party at the Kensington Roof Gardens until the early hours. |
