Details Of NatWest PCA Awards Announced
The Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA), in association with NatWest and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), has today confirmed the details for its prestigious NatWest PCA Awards evening. Unanimously supported by the players, this annual black-tie fixture celebrates excellence on the field and has become the game’s biggest party.
The NatWest PCA Awards, to be broadcast on Sky Sports, will be at the Royal Albert Hall on 25th September 2006. Fine dining will be followed by a round up of the season, the presentation of excellence awards to players and those associated with the game and musical entertainment from former England player Mark Butcher and his band.
Those attending will include over 400 current and former professional cricketers, the England team and a host of VIPs.
Awards to be presented include:
Reg Hayter Cup for the NatWest Player of the Year 2006
John Arlott Cup for the NatWest PCA Young Player of the Year 2006
ECB Special Award 2006
Slazenger Sheer Instinct Award 2006
MCC Spirit of Cricket Award 2006
PCA Special Merit Award 2006 sponsored by Brit Insurance
PCA Umpire of the Year 2006 sponsored by Accenture

Previous winners of the Reg Hayter Cup for the NatWest PCA Player of the Year Award include Andrew Flintoff (2004, 2005), Mushtaq Ahmed (2003), Michael Vaughan (2002) and Kent’s Dave Fulton (2001).
Winners of the John Arlott Cup for the NatWest PCA Young Player Award have included Alistair Cook (2005), Ian Bell (2004), Kabir Ali (2003 & 2002) and Matthew Hoggard (2001).
The awards are keenly contested, with winners being voted on by players themselves or members of the public.
VIP hospitality tickets for the event are available from Natasha Elliott at the PCA on 020 7449 4227 or email@example.com
NatWest and the PCA are giving a pair of tickets to the event, along with a print signed by the entire Ashes-winning England side, to one lucky visitor to their website www.thepca.co.uk. Entrants to their competition need to guess who will be this year’s NatWest PCA Player of the Year, and if they are correct their name will be chosen at random a week before the event.
