Derbyshire's Chris Taylor has recently started up his own coaching business.
"Following 6 Winters in Sydney running someone else's Cricket Coaching Academy, I decided last Summer to give my own Coaching Business a crack. It was something I have always wanted to do and would like to continue when my playing career ends. The Coaching itself wasn't a problem, but having no experience of the business world I wasn't sure if the administrative side of
the business would let me down. However 8 months down the line and things couldn't have gone any better.
I wanted my idea to be unique so decided all my coaches would be either current or ex Professional Cricketers, thus naming it 'Pro Cricket Coaching Academy'. Derbyshire CCC gave me great support along the way in exposing/advertising the coaching and providing me with some of the facilities. The backing of Dave Houghton, Ian Harvey, Graeme Welch and Chief Executive, Tom Sears also boosted my reputation. The Derbyshire players have provided the coaching which has allowed them to earn some extra cash during the cold, dark months.
The Business has gone so well I have already constructed my own website (www.procricketcoachingacademy.com), and will be looking to develop even further for next Winter. I am always on the look out for coaches for next Winter so if any County players are interested please don't hesitate to contact me."
