Graeme Swann maintains FTI MVP lead after England defeat in second ODI in Kochi - 16/01/13England were shot out for 158 in the second ODI in Kochi, with few players accumulating a notable haul of MVP Ranking points. James Tredwell maintains his lead at the top of the ODI FTI MVP Ranking, backing up his 4-44 in Rajkot with 1-48 from his 10 overs, while Jade Dernbach picked up a brace of wickets to double his tally for the series. Samit Patel is up to seventh overall and third in the ODI FTI MVP after contributing a defiant 30 not out off 29 balls, and respectable figures of 10-0-43-0. Patel, who enjoyed a decent World T20 with 2-6 against Afghanistan, and 67 out of an England total of 150 against Sri Lanka in his only batting opportunity, is beginning to flourish in the 50-over format in England’s middle order. He smashed 44 off just 20 balls with six fours and a six in Rajkot, and his innings in Kochi contained another three fours and a maximum. He’s yet to be dismissed in the series. Graeme Swann, who is being rested for the ODI series, leads the Overall FTI MVP with 160 points. Alastair Cook is his closest challenger, but after a fine 75 in Rajkot, he could only muster 3 points in Kochi with an innings of 17, which leaves him 40 points adrift.
