First Class Issue Three - Secure Your Copy!
The third edition of the Professional Cricketers' Association's First Class magazine, profiling the business of cricket, is now available. While the last issue saw us climbing the slopes of Everest to deliver the business of cricket, producing our latest publication has been no less exhaustive!
This issue, themed Community Matters, looks at how cricket and cricketers can act as the glue that bonds together the commercial world with the heart of our neighborhood, to create a healthier, more tolerant and amiable society for all.
Our first subject was England workhorse Matthew Hoggard, who greeted us in the elegant Cumberland Hotel, located in the heart of London, where bustling Oxford Street meets chic Park Lane. As a Chance to shine ambassador who has always sought to help others beyond the boundary, his is a fascinating interview, revealing how a dedicated international sportsman can find time and use his profile to assist others.
Then it was on to the sub-continent to catch up with former New Zealand all rounder Chris Cairns, who has recently been plying his trade in the Indian Cricket League. Cairns is a household name in world cricket and has achieved Beckham-like status back home with his swashbuckling achievements on the field and heart touching campaigns off it.
We've also nipped across to PCA HQ at Primrose Hill to catch up with new Chief Executive Sean Morris; traversed Leeds, Lord's and London town to chat to three commercial partners, all investing heavily in the community through cricket; and taken a tour of the country with the PCA team visiting briefing players for this season.
We've crammed so much more into this issue including an exclusive PCA Events 2008 diary. To secure your copy, please email Natasha in the PCA Office on nelliott@thepca.co.uk or phone 020 7449 4227.
